         Hi,

Recently my girlfriend found a baby (no more than 6-8 weeks old) dwarf bunny about to be given up. She brought it back and we tried to see how Jake, my 6-7 month dwarf would react to it. Jake’s been cuddling and cleaning it, and vice versa but his litter habits have gotten worse. When I try seperating them, they are both very agitated and try really hard to get back to each other. Are these bunnies bonded? Do I just need to give it time for their litter habits to get better? The baby bunny seems to pee in the litterbox but poops everywhere she wants!

Well, babies bond easily but it will be difficult to know what will happen when the baby reaches puberty. I would keep them together for now if they are happy and cuddling though and just wait and see what happens when she reaches puberty – you still need to get her spayed however when the time comes whether or not they are bonded at that point.

Litter box habits always get worse when 2 rabbits are involved it’s nothing at all to do with being bonded. You are going to have to be diligent and work on the habits again. Baby bunnies, well, they don’t have litter habits to begin with and you must work with them as well.
