Hey guys! Me and Barney are moving in a week, so i am looking at making him a new and much better habitat

I was thinking the base of his indoor cage which measures 39.5 inches long and 22 inches wide could act as the base of the condo, and then I could build upwards using NIC cubes, as we are very space limited!!

Does anyone have any photos of their condos that are this kind of style? Or just some advice would be appreciated

        Thanks!

        Anna and Barney x

here is mine, it is 42 inches by 28 inches though.

i will change the set-up though but it is my first and there is somethings i don’t like about it.

i put some grip on the ramps because it was too slipery but i was thinking of putting some carpet but i am not sure yet as he seems to like chewing carpet.

but yeah, that’s pretty much it.

          good luck with your project!

NIC Cubes wouldn’t work because each cube is 14 x 14 which is why Mega Pixel’s depth is 28 rather than 22 inches. But across then could not be 34 inches it would actually be 42 inches. So even the 39.5 inches would not be doable for an NIC cube.

Thanks Yeah i could still use the base of the cage i expect, just the cubes will be a bit bigger

39.5 X 24 (3 ft 3 1/2 inches X 2 ft) is on the small side. Is there a particular reason you want to use the current cage base?

If it were me, I would make a 2 X 3 grid condo like MegaPixels and put together a base that fits it.

Mega Pixel – As Sarita said, you’re condo looks like it’s 42″ X 28″ to me. 3 Grids across, 14″ each, would be 42″ not 34″.

You don’t even really need a base. Porky’s condo has no base, it just sits on top of an office chair mat. The bottom of his condo is slightly smaller than the mat,and not attached to it in anyway. The condo weighs way to much for Porky to lift up.

Because we have very limited space, in the new house the cove that Barney’s cage will go in fits his base very nicely, until I move in i’m not sure how much excess space i’ll have around the cage for building on

sorry about the confusion, you guys are right. i corrected the measurements in my previous message
but if you want you could always try to overlap your grids.

I really wouldn’t go smaller than 3 X 2 grids as that will give you 8.1 sq ft (a tiny bit above the minimum). Building something the size of your current cage base will only give you 6.5 sq ft.

Yeah, still though it’ll be more room than he has currently! He is free range anytime that I am in my room, but other than that i have no choice but to keep him confined unfortunately. So I thought building an extra level or two ontop of his current cage would be better than nothing x
