A while back I posted I was worried cause Peanut stole a peice of pepperoni and gobbled it up, well she was ok. since then she has made 2 trips to the vet because I  thought there was something wrong with her. EVERYTIME I cook any type of meat she starts going nuts if she is in her condo back and forth in front of the door. and if she is out she make a bee line for any plate she sees or smells aiming strait for the meat. has anyone esle sver heard of a bunny like this??? this is weird all the other bunnies hide when I cook meat she is completely opposite and wants it!! and by the way I do not giver her any I know its bad for her. but the vet says she is perfectly healthy.

Apollo will try and steal any biscuits I’m eating, he’ll attempt to steal it and run away, as he does with his pellets and treat raisins, but a bunny liking meat?! Are you kidding?! That’s crazy BullRider!

Could she be craving the protein? I can’t remember details on her but she’s young and not spayed as yet right?

Pregnant or nursing rabbits require a richer diet. I actually read a breeders tip about feeding a Doe a piece of raw bacon if she has eaten kits in the past. They said this would prevent it happening. I couldn’t believe what I was reading.

Anyway, I’m wondering if Peanut could be in stages if a false pregnancy if she is still intact??

Or maybe she ate meat before you found her?? She could have been someone’s rabbit who was been fed dog or cat food even. Horrible as that is.

Or maybe she just is a weirdo! Lol

Ok well to twist thing up a bit Peanut is not a female now!!! her business was sticking out yesterday!!!! yup I sexed her wrong and so did my vet who is pretty dang good since all she sees is rabbits, birds and reptiles. but I guess that is normal to have an oops once in a while. I started having the kids eat their burgers and food on the other side of the living room (since we eat all together watching a family show or movie since its so hard to get everyone together) so as not to tease her. I did notice its with things like burgers or brats that he starts going crazy over.

OH and Peanut is getting neutered next month, so FINALLY we can get a hold of the litter box training!!!! and he has sprayed the kids twice and then circles their feet showing he loves them. I should have noticed the signs!!!!

Harley has a thing for shrimp. I have to lock him up if we are eating shrimp for dinner. But he isn’t THAT persistent and crazy! He just hops on the couch and sniffs around but it’s usually pretty easy to push him off. But I’d rather not deal with a begging bunny when I’m enjoying my shrimp

Well, that actually explains a lot… He’s a teenage boy. They are just weird.

So no more “Tina Peanut” ?

Weird. I googled “rabbit eating meat”, but all that popped up was “eating rabbit meat”. Maybe Peanut is eating meat like a teenage boy eats chips? I have a teenage brother, and believe me, there are at least 3 things he can’t steer himself away from:

                                  1. Food
                                  2. Snack food
                                  3. (This one is the biggest concern) Other people’s food.

Maybe Peanut just loves taking things from you?

I am not sure, but it seems like only burgers and hot dogs and pepperoni LOL
and no no more Tina peanut just peanut. Between him and Raven now doing the digging thing, I got weird rabbits, but they fit in our family LOL
