I just wanted to share, that FINALLY we had a dry enough day, that we were able to take our bunnies outside! They were so happy in the yard, hopping, flopping, smelling…. it was so great. Also, when I got them back to their room, I gave them the first dandelions of the spring/summer. We have a very big back yard, no pesticides, no cars near by, and the soil is actually suitable to grow vegetables. I also got them some edible branches and twigs to play with during the night. I’m so happy to be able to give them fresh food from the yard (lots of other edible plants will soon emerge…)

          Glad your bunnies had fun.

How do you contain them? Do you have an X-pen or a fenced yard?

I love giving my buns fresh food also. I grow a garden with all their favorites.

They are nicely used to the harnesses (is that the correct word?), so we just clip those on and we go. The best thing would be if I could have a place for them to stay “free” outside, like a pen or something, but so far, as this is their second summer of their lives, we have nothing. They are so cute though, if something scares them, they come and jump against my or my daughters’ legs so that we sit down and then they can jump on our lap.

Today I went and picked some more dandelions and grass, and I noticed the timothy hay starting to grow! I’m thinking to dry some timothy hay this year if possible, and maybe some other plants and flowers. (I always have grandiose plans in the beginning of the summer, and then…. ooops, it’s October, haha)
