I just have a quick question. Does it sound like a sign of anything wrong if I found a tiny cecal stuck among the fur around Java’s butt? We always see him eating them, so it’s not like he isn’t or he’s just dropping them.

This only happened twice, but it was a tiny cecal just kinda hanging there for a while. One of them I pulled off, and one ended up disappearing (maybe he got it). This is the only area that’s still heavily shedding, so that might be playing a part in it.

Luckily his check up is this Thursday – just wanted to ask, though!

No, not a big deal at all. As long as cecals are not unformed or mushy, it’s not a big deal at all. Some rabbits even with the best diet do seem to produce more cecals than others.

However, I do find that sometimes it’s a dental problem if my rabbits aren’t eating their cecals – so I guess it’s really a yes and a no answer.

Oh, he’s eating them all the time. They look totally normal. It was just those random two that I saw.

Sometimes they get stuck on fur and the bunny can’t eat them. Not a big deal if you find one or two, once in a while. Finding wads of them could indicate a problem, like Sarita mentioned, often dental issues.
