This morning I left at around 11 to go out and peach was fun and normal. I just got home at 3:30 and peach is not acting like herself she i sitting hunched in the corner looking sad and she is also refusing hay, pellets, craisins and bannana which is her absolute favorite. Hr tummy is making little gurrling sounds. :s I’m very worried this is not like her at all

Do you have any simethicone (baby gas formula) ? (I think I spelled that right) Possibly put her in your lap and give some gentle tummy rubs. Also change the litter trays so you can monitor if she is pooping and peeing.

If you are really concerned Balcatta Vet now have two rabbit vets (The unusual Pet Vets). Extremely good rabbit vets. They are a 24/7 emergency hospital.

Thanks don’t have any simithecone but might go pick some up if all the chemists aren’t closed :s I have spoken to my vet and he said to monitor her for a few more house and see how she is. At the moment she has just started grooming herself so maybe she is feeling better. Lets hope!!

It’s possible she is just have a broody moment with the fluctuating weather we are having. Tummy rubs are always a good start. Is she pooping OK ?

Tummy rubs help, and making her move around will help too, so try to get her hopping

Try get her drink some water. A dish with a splash of fruit juice in the water might appeal. Or use a syringe or pipette.

If you want to friend me on Facebook I can hook you up with the new Rabbit Vets in Perth. We have quite a few recently. It’s like a lagamorph revolution. I associate with several of the rescue’s so can probably help locating products that are hard to come by too. There is one vet that use to be the best that now should be avoided as she has gone off the boil and caused a few premature deaths due to neglect and poor practices. I won’t use names on public space but She is South of the River.

When my bun had the same thing (probably, at least he had the same symtoms) this link was very helpful. http://www.bio.miami.edu/hare/ileus.html

I massaged his tummy for 15 minutes every 2 hours, gave simethicone twice a day for two days, but he was really fine after just one day. If you can get her fresh herbs rinsed in water, it (hopefully) triggers the appetite, has long fibers + provides hydration.

Hope she gets well soon! Grooming herself is a good sign!

Hi everyone thanks for all the help peach is fine now she all of a sudden started acting happy again and then did the biggest poo ever! It was huge! And now she seems tombe perfectly fine. Eating, pooping, drinking and chasing shamus around like normal.

Thanks Roberta! My vet is pretty good she apparently used to work with/for a rabbit vet but it might be good to have some names of rabbit vets incase of more serious things!
