Flin has just turned 6 months, she is a dwarf bunny.

Recently she has started getting more and more aggressive. She used to be the most loving bunny, coming to lick me all the time. Now shes biting (not drawing blood yet!) and theyre getting more painful. Pebbles is 8 months and her and Flin are still getting on great. Seems to just be humans that Flin has a dislike for.

What can I do about this? Does she need a spay soon?

Yes, she needs to be spayed and you also mentioned she had a possible “cold” although rabbits don’t get colds so perhaps she is not feeling well which can cause aggression.

Sally was starting to become aggressive around the 6 month mark. She would growl at me when cleaning close to her cage or when I reached for her food bowl. 3 weeks post spay and I was actually able to sweep around her cage and I can grab her bowl with no growling or boxing. I think it is definitely time for the spay. Is the other one spayed yet? If not, that needs to be done too. They may even start fighting if not done.

If she is sick, that could be what is causing her aggression too although the timing seems to be hormones.

I ditto everything said by Sarita and NewBunnyOwner. Hormones can definitely cause aggression and so can an unwell bunny.
