I have just noticed that my bun has a white,crusty-looking bump on the outside of one of his ears. It almost looks as if you would be able to just pick it off, but obviously I cant and wont do that! It looks kind of like a wart maybe, and I have researched it and google searched a million times and cannot seem to figure out what it could be. It looks like ringworm more than any other things I have found, but it is much smaller and I dont seem to think its ringworm. Does anyone have suggestions?

Could be ear mites too – best to have the vet do an exam to see what they think. It could be a papilloma wart too and that’s not usually a problem.

Ok, thank you so much for the help.

When I google ear mites or even the papilloma warts it doesn’t look anything like what is on his ear. It would probably be best for me to post a picture so people can see what I am talking about, so I will do that tomorrow.

Thanks again for your help.. I will go to the vet.

Good, I think it’s best to go to the vet as well. Better to have the vet see it in person than anyone taking a guess from a photo here. Especially if it’s not like pix you’ve seen on the internet already. You don’t want it to go untreated, whatever it is, and we cannot do that.

So true, I kept googling things to try and get an idea of what it might be just so I had an idea of what maybe I could do to help him, but I wasnt having any luck in figuring it out. After seeing pictures and what people have been saying of all the painful and serious things that it actually could be, I am just going to take him to the vet as soon as I can and have them take care of it. Plus I also want to catch it early and before its too late to do anything about it. I would hate to have this turn into a serious issue and then think back of how I didnt take any action early on. Thank you for the advice!
