Hey everyone I a neutered male bonded pair. One is a lop named Winston (age 4) that my girlfriend bought after a friend of hers got a rabbit that she loved and another a lionhead named Maximus (age 2) that I bought to keep Winston company. I have had them their entire lives although I have only just finally been able to bond them.

Max had some pretty serious dental problems just before his first birthday which eventually led to the removal of his front teeth (poor bunny) so now he gums everything he can! Fortunately he still has his molars which means he has no problem with hay, kibble, and diced veggies. Winston has had his own issues being a very accident prone and mischievous rabbit.

I had a hard time bonding them as they could never seem to figure out who was the dominant of the two. After a long period assuming they would never bond I gave it a shot a couple of months ago (I stressed bonded them in a laundry hamper dragging it around my house like a mad man) and they have become the best of friends. Max still mounts Winston from time to time and Winston in turn refuses to groom Max. Max doesn’t hold grudges though and spends most of his days making sure that Winston is looking his best.

My rabbits are my children! I don’t feel like I am the typical rabbit owner (or maybe I am I don’t really know) being a 24 year old male college student but I couldn’t imagine life without rabbits. If I could convince my girlfriend I would get a 3rd!

          Welcome welcome!

Your buns are adorable! It’s actually been a fantasy of mine to own a lop and a lionhead! Weirdly enough I can’t find any ‘lions’ in rescues or even breeders nearby! But I’ve got my mini lop, and I love him!! haha I hope to find somebody who shares my love of animals too someday, but I have a feeling ill be the one begging for more pets! welcome to binkybunny, you’ve joined the right place for crazy bun folk!

Big Welcome to you and your bunny family!

            They look very sweet.

This is certainly a place where we understand about “rabbits being like your children”. Life without rabbits isn’t worth living IMO

This flooring works pretty well only now Winston has learned he can chew it! Thankfully he isn’t eating it just shredding it here and there. I did some rearranging today and added cardboard edges to keep the mess in
