I am new to having a bunny, but I have learned a ton from reading on these forums.  I have a high side cat litterbox and have been using Equine bedding pellets as litter.  He doesn’t seem to like jumping in and out of the box, so I cut the front of the box lower to make it easier to get in and out which has helped a little.  However, it seem like he slips on the pellets and they go flying everywhere!  He has even figured out that he can stand up and reach over the side of the litter box to get to his hay rack so that he doesn’t have to get in it.  I thought about trying the litter screen that binkybunny sells, but i am concerned that the screen will slide and not stay in place when he jumps out.  Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

I have not tried the screens so I can’t give you any advice about that.

You could try putting a thin layer of hay over the pellets and see if that helps with slippage.

Edited to ask: How full do you fill the litter box?

I am only putting a small layer of the pellets in the bottom.

I would definitely try the screen. Go for the larger size so you can wedge it in place or bend the sides for a snug fit. That should prevent it slipping.
