  So we lost a bun at the rescue today. The more I volunteer and help the closer I get to them. I feel like I have 40 rabbits.
  
  I knew Rose. We were buddies since she was frequently on the grooming list. She was a good girl. Minded her business. Her partner, he was trouble though and one day he bit her. Well the bite turned into an abscess. They were going to separate them but every time they went to do it, the two would cuddle and kiss. I’m the one that actually found the abscess during a grooming session last fall. They’ve been treating her since then. About a month ago she had surgery for her teeth and they removed more of the infection and put a deposit of antibiotics in the now hole in her cheek. (not very scientific description but work with me). Well things looked good for Rose. I groomed her last week and all signs of infection were gone. Until Sunday or Monday. It came back but in a new place. They had to do surgery (nice vet fit her in next day). But the infection had spread too far. They said she would have to have surgery every 2 weeks to keep infection down and she would be in pain. So today we let Rose go. I say we but luckily I didn’t have to make that call.
  
  So I’m grieving for Rose today. And Pacey (*hugs for Sonn*)

  I’m sorry Anna. Its just so saddening especially when you’ve gotten to know them.
  Thank you for what you do for them and acknowledging Rose in her passing to the Bridge.
  They look like a pair that would have attracted a lot of attention. So very cute! I hope Bugsy recovers from the loss swiftly.

  Bugsy will be grieving. I’m glad you’ll be there for him as well.

  Thanks for the kind words. So far, Bugsy’s foster mom says he is doing well. We were worried because he didn’t get to say goodbye.
  
  Jersey- We all do what we can. Bunny lovers have to stick together. I thank you for all that you do for them too.
