Flin has a cut about 2cm long on her side. It has scabbed and I dont know what it is from.

My brothers girlfriend’s hamster was here the other day with a similar cut on her back. The hamster also had little red bugs running around on it.

I dont know if these are mites or some other bug?

Flin has had a similar cut like this one before but that was merely from her sister, Pebbles, over grooming her – therefore i dont want to rush her to the vet if it is just over grooming.

They live in my room. If you do think it is mites, is there anyway I can safely clean my room?

Also, I have not found any bugs on Flin or Pebbles.

If it is just over grooming is there anyway I can put something on it to stop Pebbles doing it or to help it heal? When I took Flin to the vet about it before the vet said there wasn’t really anything

It sounds like the hamster needs to see a vet!

I don’t think we can diagnose this online. I would urge you to see your vet, get it treated (probably needs a topical disinfectant or a systemic cure if it is mites or bugs) that we couldn’t properly recommend here. If you need to go home to clean, the vet can tell you that as well and how to do it successfully.
