Today, I noticed one of the bunnies “tearing up”. He hasn’t been scratching at it an unusual amount. I’m inclined to take him to the vet, but that will be several hundred dollars, so I want to have cause to go. I think I will, though. I’m known for having “my bunny is sick/always super concerned and paranoid” syndrome

Just so you guys know, I know that my bunnies are always having health problems, but I swear, I really do my best to give them nice lives, and I think they are pretty happy.

Also, he hasn’t been closing his eyes like that at all, but for the flash he blinked. I felt bad flashing it in his eyes, but photographing a black bunny is hard

If it just happened for a little bit and then went away, it’s possible that he just got a little something in it. But if you notice that it’s a persistent problem, then I’d definitely take him in to the vet to see if something’s up.

                Perhaps here’s some useful info:

                http://www.medirabbit.com/EN/Eye_diseases/Eye_diseases_main.htm

My rabbit is black too, he looks a lot like yours. It’s very difficult to get good pics of a black bun.

Now they aren’t running down, only tiny little “goobers” in the corner of his eye. Is this cause for concern?

It is possible he just got hay or something in his eyes. You could try taking a moist soft wash cloth and cleaning his eye area, then see how fast it takes for the crustiness/wetness to return. If it doesn’t, I wouldn’t worry about it. If it does, you could always call up the vet and ask what they recommend, a call is free.

Do you mean like crusties in the side of his eye? Both of my Lionhead buns get these while I never see them on my Tans. If that is all it is – just wipe his eyes when you notice them. Shouldn’t be a cause for concern unless you’re noticing almost like a discharge instead of the crusties.

Yeah. Now he only has little crusties. I think they are more visible because the bun that has them is black. Some of the bunnies at the shelter get them, but since they are other colors, you can’t see them until you wipe them off. When it was like in the picture, I think its a cause for concern, but since it didn’t persist, I’m not too concerned. When he is fixed on Tuesday, he’ll be checked out by the exotics vet so I’ll ask there.

                        Thank you guys!
