Lilly is about 8 months now, and seems to be doing great. However, this morning, I woke up to see that she had pulled out huge tuffs of her fur. I mean, tons and tons of it. She is groomed regularly, gets out most of the day, and is eating and drinking fine. However, I’m really worried. I’m watching her like a hawk, because I know if she ingests any fur she won’t be able to throw it back up. She has never been around a male, so I know shes not nesting. Is it possible she’s having a phantom pregnancy? Shes an indoor rabbit, and hasn’t been outside in the past few months due to the cold (we live in Michigan, and had a really snowy winter). Would fleas be a possibility

        Thanks for any help!

Is she spayed? A false pregnancy is a definite possibility in intact rabbits.

It sounds like a false pregnancy, as peppypoo states. Have you established a rabbit savvy vet for her?

I have a male doing the same thing. Would any one know why he’s nesting? He’s the only bunny in the house.
