        Hey guys!!

so I’m going to build a NIC cube condo soon the thing is, my mom (I live at home for now) wont let my bunny be free-range (she will soon become a slave for the bunny, she just hasn’t been whipped too hard yet.  My slave master bunny will get to her soon)unless she is supervised, and I was wondering; should I put a top on my cage?will my bunny escape, or just chill there?

Putting on a top really depends on your bun. Some members have built their condos without tops while others have. I personally built mine with the top because when I first built the cage we were living with cats. Keeping a lid on the cage was an insurance for Skipper’s health. Now it, also, depends on your bun’s personality. Some are daredevils that like to do stunts. Some may try to jump out the top. Or maybe that’s just my insane suicidal bun. It never hurts to build the cage with the top first. And when you realize you don’t need it, you always remove it afterward.

It really depends on the layout of your cage. Personally, I think making a top is the safest bet unless there is a 36″ wall involved (from the highest level to an open top). I hope that makes sense!

I recommend a top, unless like Peppy said, the wall is very, very high.

Are you totally set on a condo or have you considered an xpen? They’re generally cheaper and easier to clean.

Either myself (or another Forum Leader) will be moving this thread to the Habitat section later on today.

I might do an x pen, though my mom is weird.

she really likes the hardware work stuff and likes to do most things on her own,so telling her we could build a good cage might persuade her to be more of a bunny person and we might end up with a free range bunny. (does that make sense?) we have a good sized house but my bun will be in my room. Luckily, all that is in my room is my twin size bed, (im tiny) closet, my tiny drawers, and my cube organizer.

plus, my room is giant so I am always trying to find something to fill the space. Over a year, I could do an x pen and a condo, if she is like she was at the place were getting her. (She was super curious, and was hopping everywhere).
                Thanx!!!

Why not ask if you can have the bunny free range in your room?
