I’m hopefully just being crazy and paranoid by seeing things that are not there. But I noticed that Ian’s nose seems a bit puffy. I was wondering what could possibly be the cause of this and if you guys could help steer me in the right direction. I’m going to make a vet appointment for Friday to have it looked at it if hasn’t gone down. I was wondering if allergies could cause this. I tried Googling possible things of what it could be and he doesn’t have any of the accompanying symptoms. The buns did run out of their usual hay so we went out to the store and bought some Oxbow for the time being. It is a LOT dustier than they are used to. Can the dust cause this puffiness? Again, I hope I’m just being paranoid but if not. What sort of concerns should I bring up to the vet and is there some sort of bacteria culture or what not that I should ask to be done?

Are you sure it’s puffiness, not just moulting? I remember another question when a person was so scared her rabbit had caught myxo because he was puffy in the face, but it turned out to be just the normal spring moult.

Sorry, just saw you’re Skipper’s mama. You wouldn’t mistake moult for puffiness I think.

Roberta everything closes on Sunday for us. Even though it’s Good Friday regular businesses stay open. The problem is that I can’t find any good before and after pics. I was trying to compare the ones I have of him. And the puffiness isn’t severe. It’s just appears a little bit larger. I may be just seeing things. Which I am hoping that I am.

Bam he’s not molting. Just a slight shedding but that wouldn’t explain the slightly reddened tip.

                  Thanks LPT. =]

                  Ian looks much better.

I’m wondering if he irritated his nose because of the dusty hay. Or he may have slightly burned it because his eye sight isn’t the greatest and he was curious about the smell of my hot tea. He of course stuck his face in the hot steam the minute I turned my head. I had caught the movement out of the corner of my eye so I was able to yank the cup out of his reach since I was still holding it. Then later that day the little bugger decided to shove his nose into my piping hot philly cheese steak that I had left out of his reach. Or so I though because he jumped up to get to the smell since the little adventurer is always so curious.
