Okay so today was the first day that I have ever seen Cecotropes….

I freaked out of course but ended up on google and found out what they were. Not an issue anymore.

        This is the situation.

        Is it Frank or Johnson….

I found two today in each litter box and then later in the day one behind the couch when we let them out.

Now this is my issue… I have read so many conflicting things online…

Previously i have written in and stated that they are not eating much hay.

Today i went and got the alfalpha hay and mix it in with the timothy hay…. Johnson seemed to take right to it…

I think she is dropping the cecotropes.

Sigh this is driving me crazy… im not sure if i am doing a good job with them.

It isn’t always a big deal but certainly changing hay may help – so if you’ve changed hay, give it a bit of time.

Like Sarita said, sometimes changes in diet take a little while to normalize, so just continue to keep an eye on them. Don’t worry, it sounds like you’re doing your best!

Ah great! Sounds like you got the balance right. I found it wasn’t uncommon for young rabbits to produce a lot of cecotrophes so that might have been another reason you were seeing them.
