My bunny Roo is 3 months old right now. Just wondering if anyone knows the average cost to neuter him would be? I live in Kingston Ontario if anyone lives around there and knows a vet and how much it would cost that would be great! Also at what age did you neuter your pet? and is there anyone who chosen NOT to get there male bunny neutered?

Not too sure about Kingston, but I called around in Kitchener-Waterloo area. I think the lowest I found for male was 250, female was 315 or something. Remember to look for a rabbit specialist

Can’t answer how old – got mine from the humane society, already neutered. Sorry!

Harley was about 5 months but you can neuter them at 4 months if the testes have descended

The best way to find out is to call rabbit vets in your area to ask for price quotes. Prices will vary widely depending on where you live; I’ve seen neuter costs from $200 from different members. The House Rabbit Society has a listing of vet suggestions in Ontario here: http://members.shaw.ca/cocoasun/CanadianRabbitVets.htm#Ontario

Males can usually be fixed before females, as soon as the testes descend. This can be anywhere from 4-6 months.

I’m not sure about Kingston Ontario, but in the UK it can be about £20 that’s about $36, I haven’t neutered any bunnies myself ( taken them to the vets ) as all my bunnies have been rescue and already neutered, but the person I got my latest bunny from said it cost about £20. I don’t know if it costs less if you do it in ‘bulk’.
