Okay so some of you know me as the lady who got her bun fixed, then he stopped drinking water. Well, I mixed his water with apple juice and he drank it right up. but today I noticed that he just stopped drinking the water again and he is disinterested in his food. The only way I can get him to eat is by locking him in his cage. Is this normal for a week after the surgery?
Also: I was told not to feed him for twelve hours before the nueter (Which I thought was kind of weird.). And now I am reading that I was suppose to just ignore that. Could this be a factor?

The vet is not a bad vet he has rabbits himself so he knows, I am just trying to understand. Maybe Carter thinks that he needs to play and is afraid that if he goes in his cage I will close it? He is Binkying like normal and still playing ‘Chase and circle around your feet’.

Well, that is definitely wrong information as rabbits should not be fasted prior to surgery. So it could possibly be a factor…was this instructions from the vet or the person who you made the appointment with?

If it were my rabbit I would call and discuss this and your concerns with the vet and see if he can see him.

I would say as well that if it takes locking him up to eat his food, then by all means lock him up. Most rabbits after a neuter may be experiencing some changes due to their hormonal changes.

It was the instructions of the person I made the appointment with. I just want to be sure that Carter is getting his time to exercise right.

I would call the vet and let him know the receptionist is misinforming clients! For the safety of future rabbits please let your vet know this…

If your concerns though are more with his appetite and you want him to eat then I would confine him to make him eat then let him out to exercise.

I did confine him and I am just about to dial the number!
                  Thanks guys! (:
