I have a new bun coming tonight, it’s been a year since i had a bunny so i’m refreshing my mind on what i can feed him! The current owner said he is a lionhead, but many others on the forum have said he looks more like an Angora

So i need loads of hay – Timothy is good? My last bun didnt eat ANY hay, so i’m determined for this one to eat loads! For veg, can i give him (as well as carrot, brocolli etc) just normal washed salad, from the mixed salad bags you get? Thanks guys! Any other diet tips would be appreciated

          Congratulations!

Generally speaking an adult rabbit should eat (daily):
          1/4 – 1/2 cup pellets per 6lbs  (I feed Oxbow Adult Rabbit)
          Unlimited Hay

          1-2 cups veggies per 6lbs

Timothy Hay is great but you can also feed Oat, Orchard, Meadow, and so on. As long as it’s high quality or “horse quality”.  Hay is an essential part of a healthy bunnies diet.

Some websites to help you out with diet:

          Rabbit.org – Diet

          BinkyBunny – Diet Section

          BB Fruit and Veggie List

          HRS Veggie Info

Good luck with your new bun!
