Harely seems to be very mouthy. It doesn’t hurt but it scares the crap out of me and now I am hesitant to pet him anymore :/

What he does is while I’m petting him he will nibble on my forearm with his teeth. It actually doesn’t hurt at all but it still scares me enough to stop petting and kind of avoid him getting closer to me lol

He even got on my lap and started pulling on my clothes because i had my arms raised so he wouldn’t “groom” me I guess. He doesn’t seem like he’s being aggressive but I don’t want those sharp teeth anywhere near my skin!

When he got on my lap and started pulling on my shirt I got nervous and put him in his cage.

Do rabbits use their teeth to groom? If not, does that mean he is really being aggressive? and if he is being mean, how to stop this? Well, either way, I want him to stop rubbing his teeth on me…

It really depends on the bun I noticed with how they groom. Skipper grooms by pure licking while Ian will lick and then nibble on hair. If he is hurting have you tried the squealing method to get him to stop?

I don’t even give him the chance to see if it hurts lol I just feel his teeth and freak out. I guess you can say I make a loud squealing noise but its more of fear of him hurting than me actually getting hurt…

Are you holding him when this happens since you mention he nibbles your forearms.

No he is at my side willingly. Like he will jump up on the couch asking for pets and then he will start trying to rub his teeth against my forearm. I freak out and raise my arms and then he’ll get in my lap and start grabbing and pulling at my shirt and then i freak out that he will accidentally nip my skin underneath so I then pick him up and it him away because I get nervous lol

Like I’m sitting down and he is on my left side. I reach over with my right arm to pet him and he will start nibbling my left forearm. So I raise my arms getting scared and then he’ll crawl into my lap… If that makes sense.

I only hold him when I’m picking him up to put in his cage or transport him some place but it’s not very often…

I would put him down off the couch then when he starts that behavior – hopefully this is a behavior that he will grow out of.

Ok so just kick him off the couch. Hopefully this will make him learn that I don’t like it lol
