        Hi

I just got home from work and it’s already past sundown. Pie has been sitting uncomfortably on her blanket bed since I got here. She didnt come for her food and refuses her favourites: cucumber, carrot or rose buds. She’s moving about stretching out on her tummy. I can’t hear a lot of rumbling in her tummy either. I’ve given the first dose of simethicone and I’m preparing Rooibos Tea.

I recently moved (end November) and she is settled in, even though I don’t have a garden anymore, just a courtyard with a bit of grass. She’s been very happy so far and more relaxed than ever. She ditched her litter training though, which has never happened before. In an attempt to get her back to using the litter box I put litter training pads in her litter box. This is how I trained her in the first place when she was little. I see that she has eaten a hole in the trainer pad, its a plastic sheet with a cottony pad substance. I don’t know when this happened and if it’s related to her sudden tummy troubles.

She was fine this morning when I left, she stormed her bowl of veggies and herbs and the bowl was finished when I got home. She doesn’t seem a bit interested in dinner though.

Off to find a vet. Posting for moral support

Those are definite signs of gas or GI problems. Has she not eaten all day? What about poops?

How big of a piece of training pad did she eat? Definitely mention this when you get a hold of a vet as they will want to check for a blockage.

If she hasn’t eaten all day, I would definitely get her to a vet. Sometimes tummy problems can be just a case of mild gas but sometimes they are more serious and can escalate rapidly.

              Hi Guys

Thanks for the good vibes. It definitely helped, since Pie is doing much better as I post this reply. There was no obstruction, luckily! It was a bad gas-spell in combination with the really high temperatures of a heat wave. I was told to continue with the simethicone and fluids and Pie started eating late last night. Her poops seem regular at the moment. I leave the fan on for her when I leave now and she seems to enjoy it.

So relieved that it was just a really big fart stuck somewhere instead of a piece of trainer pad!!!

Thanks for the support guys x
