        Hi there,

My name is Barbara and I have a foundling bunny (sort of) named Panda who is now 5 months old. A friend found her wandering the street right before Christmas, was about to go out of town (that night) and begged me to keep her for a few days until she got back.  That was just long enough to become totally bonded.  Soon after her return she figured out where the bunny came from and they really were ok with me keeping her although they had wanted to breed her with her father so I consider her a rescue!  I am glad she is out of there.  I’m glad I was able to find out her age (3 months at that time) I named her Panda because she looked like a panda bear cub to me with her dark eye circles.  I know little about the different breeds but I am thinking she is a maybe a Rhinelander mix?  She is the sweetest most affectionate thing every.  She loves to come to the gate when I come near (she has a very large enclosure but the whole room to herself when I am home which is most of the time since I am retired.  She gives millions of kisses, is very playful, and zooms around the living room during sessions to get her and the senior car used to each other.  So far so good.  I took her for a checkup with a vet who treats bunnies but did not feel good about them for spaying so will be looking seriously for a vet as she approaches 6 months.  I have a few questions which I will post on the appropriate forums.

Welcome! I hope you enjoy BB and that it proves to be informative! Don’t feel bad about jumping vets. All that matters is finding the right one who you feel will give your bun the best care. I tried out several vets before I found the one I have now and she’s amazing. So I totally understand. =]

Welcome, what a sweet looking little girl

I also switched vets after my first one when my gut didn’t feel right, and my Bunny wasn’t comfortable. I am so glad I did, because the vet and office I switched to are amazing and makes all the difference. I totally trusted her in my current vet’s hands for her spay, which is so important. And my bunny loves her too!

She is beautiful. I’m glad you took her in. It certainly doesn’t take long to fall in love with a bunny.

                  Welcome to BB!

What a gorgeous girl you have! I would consider her a rescue also! I have four bunnies now and when I decided to get my fourth (the first three all came from the same litter from a breeder) the lady who ran the rescue I adopted from asked where I had got my first three and I embarrassingly told her a breeder before we knew much about buns and she instantly was like “NO! Don’t you feel bad. In my opinion, you rescued those buns too! If they weren’t used for breeding, they would be sold to someone who probably knew nothing about rabbits and they would end up right here.. in my rescue looking for good homes.” She has made me feel a lot better about not adopting when we first decided on bunnies. AND THAT POOR GIRL ROAMING THE STREETS ALONE!!!?!? Who knows what would’ve happened to her if your friend hadn’t noticed her and you kept her while she was gone. So happy she has a good home AND not as a breeding bun bun!

She’s lucky to be out of her previous situation and to have found someone like you.
