We’ve had him for 2-3 days now, and it was time for him to go back in his cage(i have to leave for work), and he did not wantto be in there. He rattled his cage, nibbled my finger, and when i put my hands up in the doorway to tell him no, because he was trying to get out– He SLAPPED my hand with his front paw. And then continued to bite/rattle his cage until i finally put the towel over half of his cage. Is he okay? Or just mad? Because I had to catch him in order for him to go in his cage today.

He just wants out. He sounds like a typical rabbit to me. If they had their choice they would not be in a cage….of course, not all rabbits can be free roam so they have to be confined to a cage. How large is the cage? He may need more space so you might consider an exercise pen.

          How old is he also?

Sounds completely normal to me. He doesn’t want to be in the cage and was telling you to get your hand out of his way.

That’s a rabbit temper tantrum. My Bridge bunny Stormy used to use his little hand slaps to show me he was displeased. He would also slap anyone but me who dared stick their hands in his cage.

My current bun, Olivia, is pretty much the queen of hand hitting. She beats up her Mom on a daily basis.
