Just joined the forums as well as rabbit ownership. Normally I am a dog person, but I am working on it.

I have a new rabbit. His name is Hercule and he is quite unfamiliar and thus unfriendly with me, so far. I am taking it slow and hopefully soon maybe he will think of me as family.

I hope I can benefit from this forum.

Welcome! I have to say I’ve always been a dog person myself. I have 2 dogs and 2 buns. I started off with 1 bun at first and he was completely unfriendly for about 4 months. Not only was he unfriendly … he seemed a little depressed. So I decided to find another bun, but one that was friendly from the get go. This has helped our household tremendously!! He has never been more happy than he is with his friend. This may not be the next step you should take, but maybe in a few months if it does not get better and you can handle it, it might work!

*** And what Amys Animals said: POST PICS! I’d LOVE to see!!

This forum is wonderful and I’m glad you’re here!

Bunnies are different from cats or dogs so it does take some adjustment. When I adopted my first bunnies I found this website really helpful: http://language.rabbitspeak.com/

It really helped me understand bunny body language

I went from Dogs to being a bunny slave too. The biggest thing to remember is they are prey animals where dogs are predator animals so that creates a huge difference in how you communicate and live with them. The link MoveDiagonally posted it the best resource for understand a rabbit’s behavior. It can be a bit lengthy at times but there is pictures and sometimes video so definitely check that out. You’ll be glad you did. (PICS, PICS )
