I have two buns, Gumby and Honey Bun. I have done 2, 30 minutes sessions in the bathroom so far. I tried to use just the tub, but Honey Bun didn’t like the tub at all. So I moved them both to the floor instead. Everything seemed to go great. Honey Bun just hopped around and Gumby followed her. Gumby cornered her behind the toilet and started mounting her twice. Both times he took a mouth full of fur. The second time I tried bonding them, they just layed together nose to nose. Honey Bun doesn’t seem to care that Gumby is around. However, Gumby only cares about Honey Bun. I put their cages next to eachother and they both lay as close as possible to one another. Gumby seems to be a little too excited and it seems like that might make Honey Bun a little nervous. How do you think its going so far? I have also put switched their cages twice to make them use to eachothers sent. Any comments would help! Thanks!

I think you stumbled upon an ‘easybond’ situation. I’d say, it’s the weekend (maybe a long weekend depending on where you live?) and if your off work, build up a shared territory and let them try living together! With minimal mounting, and lots of caring behaviour, I think you have a pair and no more work to do! It happens, I’ve had two easy and one almost easy bond

Just watch for their first few days together, build a mutual territory (instead of one moving into the others house); but sounds like your done! Try to give them lots of room at first-i.e. so if it’s a little uncomfortable one can hop away, you don’t want them in too close of quarters at first.

Wow! Sounds like everything is going great! Keep doing what youre doing a couple more times — if all goes well, move on to the next steps of bonding! Good luck

Yup, sounds good so far. Humping is perfectly normal. While it may upset the other bun, as they establish their hierarchy the humping will lessen. The fact that there is no aggression is a great sign.

Awesome! I’m so excited by ya’lls responses! I tried the mutual territory and its working fantastic! This worked out so much better than I was anticipating!! My camera recently broke, so I’m having to wait until next paycheck to fix it. However, I will have new pics of them together up soon!

                Again, Thanks guys!!
