ok here goes, im new to this site so be patient I have 3 rescue bunnies, stig, stigette, and millie, I have had stigette for almost 2 years and has been quite sick for most of the time with a nasty bone infection in her face, she has been on Norcilin for most of the time, flagyl, keflex, vibrabet paste, we had a spell for a few months she was ok and was under control, but this bout is proving very difficult to get on top of, not to mention the cost, she has had a terrible life, my sons dog attacked her puncturing a lung and breaking 5 ribs and can you believe she has come through it bless her, does any one have a suggestions or can reccomend any one anything, she’s a lovely girl and i want her to be happy, her little pal Stig is her best freind they get on so well together, only I have rescued a 3rd, “millie” and stigette hates her, millie has just been speyed so not a good idea to try and bond at the moment, will try later date when all is good!

          Hi, and Welcome!
it sounds like you’ve already been through a lot with them. I would simply suggest that you take a few hours on this site and look over each section, including reading some of the forum posts, to get some different perspectives and suggestions on all the topics provided. There’s a lot of great info. that BB has put together over the years, and with all the pictures posted as well, you can really find some excellent insights.

Thanks, Roberta, for reposting this. It also takes some learning to be able to participate easily. Be sure to check out the Technical forum, where many of the posting questions are answered as well.

                Welcome Millie’s New Mum : )

I’m curious about the names Stig and Stigette!

I’m sorry to hear your battling infection with Stigette. They are very problematic. Did it stem from her teeth?
The antibiotics you mentioned, was she on these all at same time or do you mean they’re ones you’ve tried in past.
My rabbit was on flagyl and it was good at maintaining things once the abscess was cleaned out. I also used norocillin and had it as a back up incase the flagyl became ineffective. I was told more then once that these things never fully resolve unfortunately. However, you can have long periods of getting it under control and the rabbit having good quality of life. It sounds like this is what you’ve been doing for Stigette.

OK, Millies New Mum has forgotten her log in and password. I am going to get her screen name and hopefully she can remember the password, if not I am going to set her up with something simple…. Louise would dearly love to add to the forums it’s just taking us a little time to get through logging on and navigation.

Roberta, I alerted BB to the log-in issue. She may be able to help.
