So my two booboo’s Are free range of my bedroom ( they get more room then me !! i get the bed) They are litter box trained but hey do have accidents and shed fur ( just a little)  and my floor is carpet so i want to keep it clean and not get it all yucky. My question is what do you put ion the floor? I odnt want to line the wholer room with plastic or anyhting because it looks kinda silly. Do you buy carpets to put over top?? Would that be a bad idea?

        thanks

I have rag-rugs on the floor, several small ones, so if there is an accident somewhere I can wash that particular rug. I have a double set so I can replace the rug which is being washed. They are cheap and can be washed at a high temperature and they seem to be good for his hocks, he gets good traction on them. Sometimes he digs away at them so they get frayed after a few months, but since they’re so inexpensive it’s not a problem.

Bam – where do you buy those rugs for cheap?

I use some of those puzzle pieces that you can use for children’s play areas. I have hardwood so I need them so he doesn’t slip everywhere. They’re nice because you can spill things on them and they just wipe right up (eg: if your bunny isn’t perfectly litter trained.) The only problem is that Buster likes to dig at them. No biggie, he doesn’t eat them, but they just are starting to look a little worn.

I buy cheap rugs to cover their area. I find large neutral colored ones at Bed Bath and Beyond, typically during back to school season, for $30-50 depending on size (my larger one is 6’x9′)

What about walmart / other stores? I know you can get some cheaper rugs from Home Sense if they’re on sale.

Also, I got the puzzle pieces from Canadian Tire. Not sure if you’re Canadian, but I’ve seen them in other hardware stores, and I’m sure walmart has them as well. I THINK you can get them in smaller pieces. I’ve seen some pictures with letters on them, and I think they’re smaller than the ones I have. I got a pack of 4 on sale for $4.99 (2 packs were enough to cover almost my whole room and part of his condo). I’d say they’re about a 1/2 inch thick.

Nice! Keep an eye on the Canadian Tire flyers – I see them on sale quite often there for around that cheap. They definitely won’t feel higher at all. If you’re REALLY silly you could trip over them but… that’s if you’re really silly. I don’t even notice them when I step on them (except that they’re squishy and comfy ) Buster also likes to sleep on them.
