so, recently my bunny was put on antibiotics for greenish colored discharge and lots of sneezing and he seemed to get better after the antibiotics. today, i noticed he’s been sneezing tons (and kinda violently) and he has clear discharge coming out of one nostril. He’s eating, drinking, breathing, and playing like his normal self! is this an infection, or is it an allergy or is it from his hay? His poor little nose is a mess any suggestions?

Back to the vet….. ASAP….. Could need the antibiotics extended or it could be a secondary condition (IE Dental) that was missed because the focus was on the respiratory infection. It could also be caused by the presence of a second bacteria. A culture and dental check are needed….

I ditto a culture. The vet will take a swab and take a sample from the nose and test it for bacteria. Once you know what type of bacteria you are dealing with, you can make sure that you are using the best antibiotic to fight it.

How long has he been on antibiotics and what type?
