Well I got a new bun a few days ago and every since then she is persistent at either opening her door or just jumping out of her cage to lay next to his cage. I can’t have her loose at night when we are sleeping because I’m not quite there at trusting her yet lol the last 3 mornings I have woken up to her out of her cage! Luckily she seemed to behave all nights with no pooping or peeing outside the litterbox and she isn’t the one to chew on cords but I still feel more comfortable Knowing she is in the safety of her enclosure when we are sleeping. I have been sick the last few days so didn’t have the energy to build her a roof so shrugged it off since she is well behaved.

Well tonight I mustered up my energy to build her a roof because now she jumps on the roof of Harley’s roof and lays on it and I don’t want him nibbling her toes and I just don’t like her being up there at all because to jump down is quite far and she would land on a hard, slippery floor.

Let me just say that I feel like she new EXACTLY what I was doing when I started making the roof. She was getting so upset she couldn’t jump out of her cage or rattle her door open. She was chewing EVERYTHING! She was throwing her hay bowl everywhere and flipped her water bowl over and so I gave her a phone book to let her frustrations out as I made some final touches and she shredded it up! I think she was pretending I was the phone book lol

Anyways, now she just pushes her entire cage! And it’s a big enclosure (about 10 sq feet currently) she pushes it off the mats I have laid out and I’m getting annoyed how much she is fighting me. I think she got used to her new found freedom.

How do I make the walls of her cage not push able? I don’t want to staple anything down and I can’t put something heavy against the cage walls because she will shred it up!

Also, do girl bunnies circle feet too? She will not let me walk ANYWHERE. This has all started when I got Harley a few days ago and I’m pretty sure she is female, or I hope she is because I don’t know how to change Sally into a masculine name lol

Yes, rabbits can have temper tantrums. My Olivia IS a temper tantrum.

Seriously, though, your Sally is just showing frustration because she knows there is another bunny in HER territory and she wants to get to him. Is he caged where she can see him? Bunnies are incredibly territorial, especially female, unspayed bunnies.

And I can’t remember, Sally is not spayed yet? How old is she? Girl bunnies will sometimes circle feet and they can and do hump too.

She can’t get spayed until next month and Harley is getting fixed this Tuesday. She hasn’t shown any aggression towards him when they had a face to face meeting. She actually asked for grooming and he obliged but they were only able to meet for about 30 min- anhour and were very friendly with each other. But he is in the same room with her as our house is pretty small so even if we moved him to the living room, she’d see him and still try and hang around outside of his cage.

She doesn’t lunge at his cage or anything they are just constantly sniffing each other through the bars and she’ll just sleep right outside his cage the whole day which frustrates harley because he is so hormonal and can’t get to her and he sprays her! The feet circling isn’t too bad I can put up with it for the next month but I need some advice on how to keep her cage more stable so she can’t push it across the room?

Do you think having a male present has caused her to go into mating mode or something? All she does is hang out with him or circle my feet. She’s still being sweet and using her litterbox but she seems so obsessed

She forgave me this morning when I let her out back to being the lovey dubby bunny I just never realize that bunnies can get so viscous and angry! Like she seemed so in tune with the situation I never realized rabbits have the ability to notice what’s actually going on Lol

Pan throws temper tantrum all the time when I do something he does not like. Examples of this are closing the door of his cage, leave my shoes in his way, and closing the doors to the closet. He trashes his cage or attacks any of my shoes and then he will go pout in a corner.

Leopold will throw temper tantrums, particularly when I do something that prevents him from chewing on something. For example, he would not leave this one spot on the drywall alone. I fenced it off with nic grids. Oh boy was he mad! He was shaking the fence I made as hard as he could, then he threw toys all over the room, and finally he sat in the corner and pouted.

Yes! Gumby throws temper tantrums when I feed him late. Gumby likes to be fed every morning as soon as the sun comes up. If I do not feed him at 7:45am he will tear his cage apart. He throws his hay everywhere, throws boxes, shreds all the paper in his cage and throws this food bowl against the door of the cage. It’s annoying … however, it is somewhat hilarious! But you gotta love em’!

Foo will have tantrums if she feels she didn’t get enough attention or out time. She’ll either go into destructo bun mode and throw things and chew things she wouldn’t normally touch, or mope for hours somewhere we we can’t reach her (under the chair is a favorite spot- we can see just how miserable she is, but can’t easily reach her).
