Velvet has at least 1 maybe 2 claws that curve upward instead of down towards the ground. It’s her back feet and outer toes.. Anyone ever seen this before?

This happened to Pip after I cut a claw too close to the quick and it grew back oddly.
How old is Velvet? What are her flooring accommodations like? Perhaps she needs softer (or firmer) bedding, depending?
Does she have any rear leg/back problems that could be causing her to hold her feet in odd positions?

Just turned 3, she has the run of the house pretty much, basement, upstairs, Concrete floor with rugs and carpet upstairs. When we got her she was a show bunny for 4H and in a large metal cage. Was wondering if she had broken her toes or something. They’ve been this way as long as I can remember and doesn’t seem to bother her, just kinda strange I thought.

I wonder if she was kept on wire cage flooring before she came to you?

I remember reading about a rabbit that came into Save A Bunny in shocking condition with her feet. The abscesses caused permanent deformities and her nails grew in various directions.
(She’s now healed, adopted and bonded with another rabbit ).

Yes she was cages of 4H bunnies stacked. I put her in one for one winter, with a 2X12 board inside to get her off the floor of the cage. She’s got it pretty good now, not like she shows it. I must say since she was spayed less than 1 month ago, her personality has really become more human friendly.

How about ringing the vets office and asking if anything is noted in her file? They well may have done a general body assesssment at the time of her spay.

Did you see the vet after? I collected my rabbits from Reception after their surgeries. So often didn’t see the vet at all.

Just saw the Technician, but, I might take her back about eye goop, if it starts again, been lucky so far it stayed away for now.

I had this with one of my bunny Bailey’s. She had a spine issue, along with back end weakness due to e.cuniculi and I think her strange sideward and upside down toenails were due to how she had to lean our her feet. I have also seen this in some of my buns as they age which could be due to leaning in a particular way due to arthritis. This also always ends up being on the outer toes. I always keep their nails in good shape, and they are not on wire floor, so I am not fully sure what causes this. I need to remember to ask the vet the next time I visit. It doesn’t seem to cause any discomfort

Velvet gets around just fine, I imagine she was in a wire cage for the first year of her life, so, my guess is that’s the cause. I always heard you need a board for them to sit on to get off the wire bottom. Don’t remember if they had any in there. Lifes much better for her now. I agree, she doesn’t seem to have any discomfort though!
