Hello I finally have a chance to make a proper introduction. My name is Ellie. I’m in my 4th year of University, and I have the SWEETEST bunny ever. He has a bit of an attitude problem, but he has a huge personality.  His name is Buster, and I got him back in June (he’s my first bun.) I wouldn’t say we’re still fully bonded, but we’re working on it. I think he has trust issues because I got him from the pound at 3 1/2, and I don’t believe he’d ever been held/cuddled/really paid attention to. We’re working on it though!

Here he is modelling for himself, hopefully it shows up.

        I think I’ve decided he’s probably a mini rex – any ideas?

Glad to be a part of the binky bunny community! Thanks for all of your help with my urgent Coke problem… gave me a scare, but he seems find now.

                Welcome : )
How cute is he checking himself out in the mirror?!
He doesn’t appear to have the crinkly whiskers that rexes do but it’s hard to tell from the picture. He could well have some Rex in him though! Something about those cute cheeks remind me of… ? breed. I can’t put my finger on it. Lol.

                  Thanks for all the welcomes!
Jerseygirl, maybe a better picture would help. I took that one with my phone – never the best quality! Here he is enjoying the sun a few months ago.

Also, I secretly think ‘he’ is a ‘she’ because of his little dewlap… I’ve been told it’s a boy though. Who knows

He looks like my Rascal a little bit. Not a rex. English spot mix possibly?

Welcome to BB by the way!!

                      Aww! He’s so sweet.
                      How much does he weigh?
Chances are he’s a mix breed (the best!) and it’s only ever a guess as to what’s in the mix.
I wouldn’t be surprised if he has some lop breed in him. His head shape also reminds me a little of Netherland dwarf but that could be one of his parents was a N.dwarf mix.
He’s definitely not a full mini rex. They have distinct fur and kind of crinkled whiskers. But again, very possible it’s in his mix. He could be a melting pot of many breeds resulting in one thing ->a whole lot of cute!

I *think* his colour is called sooty fawn butterfly (broken sooty fawn butterfly).

ETA: desexed bucks can develop a little dewlap I’ve heard. ; )

Well that’s good to know! Everyone always asks me what breed he is and I feel silly being like “uhh.. I don’t know…”
The first time I brought him to the vet he weighed 6 lbs. The last time I took him he was I believe 4.3 lbs. I think the decrease was that he was in the pound for half a year – stuck in the smallest cage possible, with no time to run! Terrible.
Ah well, either way I still love him the same. I thought he might be a rex because he has the SOFTEST fur I have ever felt! Maybe rabbits are all like that though.

Thanks for all your help, and the welcomes!

Yeah I thought my bunnies had the softest fur too…until I felt a rex yesterday!! LOL He was soooooo soft! I used to have a rex when I was young but I didn’t remember how soft they were.

Most rabbits do have very soft fur though. =)

He looks vaguely like my Smudge, and she is a polish. Has the vet confirmed he/she has been fixed? Because it is possible he may be a she otherwise
