i was wondering any of you who have dogs, how well they get along with your buns and vice versa. i grew up with dogs and am interested in getting one in the future. but i am worried about how safe itd be for charley. i would supervise them if they were together and keep charley in a safe area. but does anyone have any bad exerience or good advice?

my 5 y.o. chihuahua is a little afraid of her new siblings!! she’ll go up and say hi with a little lick, but she kind of ignores them. now the bunnies do try to get her attention and try to play with her!!! I know my lop I had when I was in high school loved my australian shepherd and would cuddle with her!!! You’ll just have to watch extra well if you get a puppy, they have so much energy and might unintentional hurt your bunny! Most dogs do very well if raised with another animal!!! how exciting!! what breed are you getting??

Im not sure yet, but it would be a large breed. It wouldnt be until spring or summer, im just trying to plan it out now. I have to get charley spayed first and we have a move coming up. But then once were settled in id like to get a dog because i cant imagine my son growing up without one.

My dog and my bunny get along just fine. They aren’t best friends or cuddle buddies at all, but they do come up and sniff each other when one enters the room.
That being said, I ended up with my bunny because his previous owner had a hunting dog that was getting aggressive with him. So maybe it depends on the breed. But if you’re going to get a puppy they’d probably do fine if you’re going to supervise them. You could work with the puppy and train it to be respectful of the rabbit from a young age.
