this is my first bun I’ve had him for 2 or 3 weeks. I want to give him more freedom in the house, but I worry about him and the cat. so I take the cat and have him on my lap or in front of me and brush him in the hall way (its blocked off) with the bun and right away bun sniffs the cat hops on his tail and.. well you know. so I say no no shoo shoo  and push him off lightly and he runs around us and does it again… my cat is very big although he is declawed and is missing a leg I worry. other  than the bun’s attitude I think it would be fine the cat will clean the bun’s head when bun comes up to him, but my cat is super moody and will bite after so much and the leg being gone doesn’t help cause he cant get away (he still has the stiches) any ideas? …… its just the cat and as far as I know he is to young to do it at all

Dragon, I’m moving this to the behavior section.

I think I would try to keep cat and bunny separate while the cat still has the stitches.

Yes, cats and bunnies can get along. Many people report that their cats and bunnies just largely co-exist and ignore each other, or are sometimes even friendly. However, until they are used to each other the interaction should be supervised.

Bunnies can be fixed as soon as they hit puberty; this can be 4-5 months for males or 5-6 months for females; it depends on the individual and the breed. However, the best way to tell is to find a good rabbit-savvy vet and schedule the surgery at an age that he/she recommends.
