Hi All!  I’ve been lurking and learning so thought I’d join

I only have 1 bunny, Hunny Bunny,  Approx 1.5 yrs old, not sure what breed she is.  She came from my hubbys nieces as a leftover and forgotten county fair project from 2011.  She and her buddy were kept in a cage at the family farm, My wonderful husband started taking care of them when they were left too many times without water or food.

During the heatwave July 2012, one of the bunnys died, so he brought the other home to me.  We kept her in the cool garage for a couple of days, while I figured out where she was going to stay. We don’t really have a place for a rabbit hutch so we ended up putting her in the kitty pen with the kitties!   Don’t fret!  The kitty pen is really a great set-up!  They all have a nice big fenced secure yard to play in with access to the house through a kitty door we put right through the wall.  The cats get along with the 2 little hens we have, and were introduced to the bunny without incident.  Nobody trys to eat each other!

It took Hunny Bunny about 3 months to figure out she could use the kitty door to get in the house.  After We bunnyproofed the place we waited to see what would happen and how she would behave.  We found a bunny vet, had her spayed and started learning about house rabbits.  Things have been going great so far.  She never poops or pees in the house, she goes right outside!  She stays upstaris most of the time, only going downstairs at night.  She just recently discovered that the bed is soft, so she now sleeps at my feet.  (what’s one more fuzzy little sandbag in the bed LOL!)

Thanks for the warm welcome! We love our Hunny Bunny! It’s a new adventure having a rabbit! I’m so glad she fit right in!
Lexy is a miniature horse, registered AMHR. She is a “silver dapple, varnish roan, snowflake appolossa”. She just loves all the little critters. She often rests hanging her head next to the chickens, and adores “her” kitty, Poppy.
We also have another mini mare and a mini molly mule, they pretty much ignore the bunny, except when she gets too close to their hay (through the fence) LOL!
