Bindi has his dental tomorrow. I’m nervous. I’m always nervous when a bun goes under. Will most likely get pre-blood work done since it’s been a while. I also suspect another ear infection so she will be checking his ears out as well.

Please send vibes for an easy procedure and speedy recovery. His last dental, he was quite sore and unwilling to eat for several days.

After he is recovered, I”m going to do some renos on his condo to make it bigger and add some levels. I would dearly LOVE to bond him and Olivia but I really can’t see that happening with her being so aggressive and all. But I am planning on doing some bonding work with them when he’s recovered. If nothing else, it will at least rule it out once and for all. I think Bindi misses having a buddy.

        Will update tomorrow.

I hope if you attempt the bonding that it will go well. Maybe now that they are both older perhaps it will be easier for them.

Sending speedy healing vibes for Bindi! You mentioned the last time his teeth were done he was quite sore, did your vet give him a shot of Meloxicam/metacam? What about giving you some doses to give him at home? My rabbit gets his teeth done every 9 weeks and without the meloxicam twice daily at home for several days after, he can’t function at all because he’s much too sore. It really helps speed up the healing process and keep any swelling/pain to a minimum. Hope you can get some for your guy if you don’t have it already. Keep us posted on his recovery.

Yes, he was given Metacam to take at home for several days. He was still sore though. Hoping his teeth aren’t as bad today and he won’t be so sore.

I feel so awful dropping my bunnies off at the vet. Gotta go in like 1/2 hour.

Any word on how Bindi did yet? I know it’s early, but just wanted to check in before I have to go to work.

Thanks, guys. Bindi made out really well. He got home around 2:30 and it’s 7:00 now. He just ate all his supper so he’s not overly sore. Vet said his bottom molars were pretty bad and there was some food impacted and some inflammation of the gums. His top teeth were okay. She sent him home with some Metacam and an antibiotic as a precaution since his gums were inflammed.

And good news: No ear infection!

Vet wants to see him gain some weight, though. He is somewhat thin. Hopefully, he will gain weight now that his teeth are taken care of.

He’s just super. He’s here beside me trying to look as doe-eyed as possible so I will give him another bite of pear. This was def the easiest dental he’s had. He didn’t even really need the pain meds.

How are you doing, Jersey? I’ve been thinking about you, hoping you are making out okay.

Great to hear that Bindi is still trucking along. How funny, I’ve never thought of trying pear on my bunnies although I understand they can even eat the leaves from the trees (in Britain anyway). Mimzy loves banana and apple, but Fiver will not touch fruit of any kind, little poop.
Would love pix of those ‘doe eyes’

I’m doing ok LPT, thank you. Still adjusting…

Sorry to bump this up again. I was just curious if you noticed Bindi leaving cecals or messy poo prior to his dental?

About a month before he was having cecal wads. That’s usually an indication that it’s time to make a dental appointment. I decided to put it off until after Christmas and he hadn’t had any more in the few weeks before his dental.
