I’m sorry if this is a repeat of a topic, but I’d like an answer for my specific case(: I have two bunnies named Timothy and Bella. Tonight I heard some noises coming from timothy so I went to go check on him, (I was only a couple feet away) and I listened more closely and came to the conclusion that its his tummy making gurgling noises, just like we do when we’re hungry. They eat a diet of unlimited timothy hay, and a couple handfuls of high quality timothy hay pellets each day, as well as veggies and fruit for treats (usually parsley, carrots, or banana). Timothy is still very interested in eating and drinking, and he is not acting lethargic or like he’s in pain; also his poops are normal, nice and round. Should I be worried? Of course if this persists or he shows other signs of illness I’ll take him to the vet pronto, I would just like some input. Thank you!(:

Mine do that occassionally as well without any cause of concern. One of mine makes these noises right after he has been drinking. If it is very loud, constant, sounds differently from what you are used to hearing or if the rabbit is showing any signs of not feeling well, then it is a cause of concern though.

Doesn’t sound like a problem from what you are describing.

How much hay do they eat during the day? Do make sure that at least 80% of the daily intake of food is hay and not veggies and fruits.

How can you entice them to eat more hay? I know this her thread but my question can benefit her as well. They eat hay but I feel like they eat more pellets than hay.

Reducing pellets can get them to eat more hay. Most adult bunnies should only get about 1/8 cup of pellets daily.(See Bunny Info on this site for more on nutrition). You can also try switching or mixing hay types. My buns love Timothy, Orchard and Oat hay.

Well they are youngins so they get unlimited of both but they seem to prefer pellets but I bet switching the hay out a few times a day will entice them more from the fresh scent of hay. They seem to munch on it when I first put it in
