i measured the width between the bars of her xpen and got wood that fit those measurements. (because the cage is 48″ across, i got 50″ long pieces.) i got ten pieces and just slid them between the bars of the pen. make sure you measure accurately so you get a tight fit between the bars, or else they’ll wiggle.

It needs to be tall enough for her to stretch out all the way, which even for a small bunny can be a couple feet. We got a 32in xpen with no levels, I personally don’t find them necessary because the girls get enough out of cage time and have surfaces to jump on then.

You don’t need levels in a puppy pen.

I agree with Sarita. Levels really are not necessary. Exercise pens are big enough to provide plenty of space. Just worry about getting the pen and getting her inside full-time, 24/7. An upside down cardboard box works fine for a hidey house, and the bun can jump up on top to sit if she wants. You don’t need to complicate things.

I agree with the not so complicated approaches. My boys have a couple milk crates with the openings facing each other but with a gap so they can get into the two. I have thick cardboard zip tied on top, with the tales cut off, with a towel on top and in the bottom so they have something to lay on and play with. The cardboard on top also makes for a make shift little level. The milk crates were given to us when we still had Schwans delivering our milk and other things.
