Dulce is a 6 month old dutch rabbit and he was recently neutered. I never had problems with aggression or him being territorial before. Recently though he’s been hiding under the couch and the recliner. I used to be able to just say his name or thump the floor and he’d come out. However recently whenever I try to get him out he lunges at me and nips. Tonight though he bit down really hard and drew blood when I tried to get him out from under the recliner. I don’t want him under there because I don’t want him getting hurt or my furniture destroyed he’s already chewed a whole in my couch lining to crawl into. Any suggestions to get him to stay out from under the furniture and how to safely remove him without getting bit. He’s not usually a biter he’s normally rather sweet which is why this confuses me.

I’d use NIC panels around the base of your furniture to keep him out

Another option could be small pieces of cardboard shoved under the couch to keep him out, or a piece of wood.

He may be lunging and biting because he’s determined this is “his space”. Buns can become quite territorial about their areas. LOL. Is he a free-roam bunny or is he caged? If he’s free-roam he may have just decided to claim that spot for his own.

He’s not free roam. He has a cage that he’s in while i’m at work but whenever I’m home he has free range of the living room. I discovered what i think ma be the reason behind the behavior. My recliner is a heated/massage chair and when I went to use it tonight after work it wouldn’t turn on. I flipped the chair over to discover Dulce had eaten the wiring to my heat/massage remote so it no longer works.

Aw…sorry to hear he ruined your chair. Bunnies will eat anything with a cord, so it’s very important to thoroughly bunny proof to protect your bun and your stuff. I’ve had many things ruined in my early bunny slave days.
