Hi, my name is Helene. I’m from Norway. I registered quite a long time ago, but I completely forgot the forum until today.

I no longer have any rabbits, but i work at the “animal protection” (Dyrebeskyttelsen, as it’s called in Norwegian), wich is a organization that rescues animals of all kinds – rabbits included I usually have some rabbits in foster home.

I have a cat called Ludde, and he is scared of rabbits xD It’s very funny to watch – Ludde running for his life, and a rabbit following behind. I guess my cat hates that we’re a foster home for those scary little creatures

Looking forward to use this forum And never mind my English writing

Fostering little buns? Awwww, that’s so nice to hear! If I ever had the chance to foster bunnies, I’d end up with a million bunnies and no space for myself. hahahaha. It’s really awesome what you’re doing.

May I ask, have you ever thought about owning another bunny? Or are you just into fostering them?

And poor Mr. Ludde! Welcome (back!) to BB! Can’t wait to see pictures of your foster buns and hear any great stories/experiences you have!

Haha, I’m glad that my parents have a “rabbit limit” here – I can only foster two rabbit groups at once – because I only have two rooms. Sometimes the groups are big, but usually two or three rabbits. I prefer only having one group at the time because I think “the more place the better for the buns”.

I often have a hard time giving them away to new homes, I’ll admit that. But at the same time – when you foster new rabbits all the time you also get to know a lot of different rabbits with so many different personalities. I really appreciate my opportunity to help the rabbits, and do what I love
Especially a rabbit named Elias was so hard to send to a new home. He lived here for a month, and he was so special and..sometimes I thougt of him as an “old soul”, he seemed very wise. I don’t know why, though. When I figure out how I can post images I’ll show you I’m very happy for him – his new owners are so dedicated and caring, really the perfect home.

Ludde is quite happy – there are no foster buns here at the moment. That’s because my sister will stay home for Christmas, so there won’t be space enough for a rabbit. But I will probably have new ones when sis leaves again.

              Thanks
Oh, cool, Helene is actually a very popular rabbit name in Norway. It’s because we have this childrens song about a hare named Helene, and everyone in Norway knows that song. So people often name their buns after Helene the hare ^_^

That’s so interesting and really cool! I can’t wait to hear about the new fosters when they can come!

I actually know someone who lives by me who has an old bun and he says the same thing about his bun! “An old wise soul” Too funny!

He’s a 9-year old bun and adorable as all heck! And not too friendly but his owner just adores everything about him!

I hope that the new fosters will be that shy, unsocial type.
I really like those, because they change soooo much while they’re here. It’s wonderful to see their personalities show, even thougt I often have to wait a long time for it. But it’s always worth it
The social ones doesn’t really need my help that much. I love those too, of course, but it’s very different, and they usually doesn’t stay here as long as the more afraid rabbits.

I really wish I could post photos here xD

I love that you love the shy, unsocial type! I have two boys and a girl, and my girl was that exact same way when we got her! Through a lot of love and care and trust she is finally a GREAT little bun! She’s so curious and friendly and LOVES just jumping all over us now. Before she wouldn’t even let us come near her without freaking out much less pet her or come on our laps! It’s been amazing to me to see how much she has changed.

                      Wuhu noen fra Norge!
Sounds like you are doing a great job!
My bunny is the shy type, and he has gone long long way since we got him, also since he got neutered. Now he’s a total brat Still a bit shy amongst strangers though, but with us he is very contact seeking and loves to give us kisses.

Hi, Helene and welcome to Binky Bunny.

I had to edit your first post to exclude your age. This is a rule here at BB that minors aren’t allowed to post their age for their own protection.

I would love to see pics of your foster buns. Are you fostering any rabbits right now?

No, not anyone right now. My sister is staying at home for Christmas, so I decided to wait until she leaves again. She doesn’t like rabbits at all, and I’ve never understood why.

I’ll try to post photos! You have to see Elias, “the old soul” I talked about earlier.

That’s too funny about the scared cat! My mom’s greyhound is afraid of cats!  It’s so silly to watch him walk as far away as possible from my neighbor’s cat lol!

Lara and Luna are still looking for new homes, but they are at the shelter now Very cute ladies! Luna is very bossy, but Lara is more careful.
Here are some more pics – these rabbits live at the shelter, except Gustav:

                                      Bella

                                      Benny

                                      Doris Day

                                      Peter

Ravina (the quality is not good at all, but she’s still very cute)

Gustav (my avatar rabbit – he is adopted by a family with five indoor rabbits  )

Yeah, Benny is such a sweet boy. He is bonded with Bella, and they look so cute together.
Personally I have a thing for Peter and Ravina, they’ve been on the shelter for five years +.
