Circe lovessssssssss dried cranberries. She will do anything for them. I used them to train her to come when called by her name. However, I was just curious as to how many dried cranberries are safe to give her in a day? I know they are very high in sugar so I don’t want to overfeed them…

I use them as treats for my bunny. They are, like I said, TREATS, so you don’t wanna give too many, because they are high in sugar. I would suggest giving no more than 3-5 a day, but you certainly don’t want to overfeed them. I know Molly would eat the entire bag if I let her. What you could do is break them in half, that way if you give 3, they think they are getting 6

Making them smaller is a good suggestion. Like raisins or craisins, you want to hand feed them one at a time as a treat. Never put out a bowl of any of those, but 4-6 pieces as a reward or training tool daily would be OK. I would find a slightly more healthy daily treat if it’s just to be nice, that’s more a ground hay rabbit treat and not a sugary fruit.

I didn’t think you did, but sometimes a post is an opportunity to advise other members who may still be learning about these things and not have heard info. like that.
                …hmmmm…..I’m getting kind of hungry…..

If you asked Pepper, Nermie Nomnoms, Pipi and Blossom and they would all say “you can never have to much of the craisins” Whilst gnawing on the bars and trying to grab the box from my hand.
But they are a treat, every now and then I weaken and they get some extras and I then have to clean up the cecal fest and deal with red urine, so I try to limit them to little bits at bedtime.

Very Red… and extremely upsetting when some bunny who will remain Nermless decides to pee on her pretty white sisters head and has the slave in a state of panic for 5 minutes before the penny drops that it’s second hand cranberry juice not blood.
