Yesterday, I was bring my bunny to her cage, but all of a sudden she flipped out and jumped form my arms and landed on the fool on her side. Is there anyways I can check if she is hurt? This is not the first time this happened. And everytime she does it it scares the poo and pee out of my and I am shaking for a 1/2 of hour.

Call your vet. It’s not something we can, or should, take care of online. By now it’s afternoon and I hope you have done so. Never go online for an emergency, even if it’s just advice to know whether it is an emergency or not. Just call your vet asap.

Hi Baby Daisy, Another member had a similar situation recently. I agree with Pam a Vet Check is important but also have a look at the other thread. https://binkybunny.com/tabid/54/aft/122810/Default.aspx . Is she moving alright or limping, does she look to be in pain if so tell the vet it is an emergency. Also if she has done this before you might want to think about using a carrier to move her. Also when you are holding her make sure you support her bottom and her back, if you keep her held close to your chest it will restrict movement, when you release her get down on the ground or up close to her cage enrtance so there is no chance of her falling and you can transfer directly to a surface.

Is there a way you could modify her cage so that she can go in herself? This might be easier for both of you in the long run.

My bunny is fine now, it just scared the poo out of me. Thanks!

I would suggest not picking her up anymore, if she has done this multiple times. Bunnies really aren’t a fan of being handled. It scares them very much, and a fall like that could be very damaging one day. I would suggest making her dinner time whenever you are ready for her to go back in her cage. That way you are luring her back in with food, and the need to pick her up is no longer there. Less stress on her, and on you, and its safer

Glad to hear your bun is OK… Peppy Poo and Rei have made very good suggestions regarding modifying the cage and using dinner time to get her in.
