My bunny Alfred had to be put to sleep today.  He had a sinus infection, and an obstruction, he developed a cataract, the vet couldn’t say if that was related. He had also grinded one of his back teeth so hard it fell out.  She gave him a 50/50 chance of surviving the surgery and that was a rough estimate.  He was in a lot of pain. she relieved some of the gas pressure, but he started going down again, so she figured surgery was the next best option.

this feels terrible. i can’t stop crying. and his brother Seymour is all alone now.  How should i deal with him feeling lonely?

Oh Lexy, How dreadful…. Binky Free Alfred…..
There is not much you can do for Seymour other than lots of cuddles and reassurance. Both of you will be missing Alfred and both of you will need each others affection.
Wish I could give you both a hug myself.

I am so sorry for your loss. Binky Free Alfred. Maybe after a bit of time you can get Seymour a girl bunny to love. Hugs to you.

I’m so so sorry for your loss . I’m sure both of you would feel better spending time with each other while you grieve for Alfred. Just do keep an eye on Seymour to make sure that he is still eating and pooping like normal, as sometimes bunnies can get depressed after the loss of a mate.

I’m so very sorry you had to say goodbye to your bunny. It is so hard and it’s okay to cry. I still cry for my Stormy who I lost in September. Grieving takes time, for humans and bunnies. Make sure to spend as much extra time with Seymour as you can. He will need you to be his buddy now.
