I just got back from the vet – final treatment of ivermectin yay + another wellness exam. She seems to be healthy, however she now weighs .96KG which I believe is around 2.1lbs. Is that normal for an 11 week old holland lop doe? I feel as if she is a bit on the bigger side!

Lets see, I got her on 11-10-12 and I took her to the vet on 11-14-11 and she weighed 1lb and 10.5oz

Now she is 2lbs and 1oz (approx) is that normal? She is not really overweight, I don’t think. She has unlimited alfalfa pellets by oxbow and unlimited orchard grass and oat hay, she does fresh veggies but it is very very limited. (No changes in her stool or anything so I am increasing just a tad)

Does she sound average/ bigger/ smaller than your average holland lop? She will be 12 weeks on monday. I know all this varies, but generally speaking is she on the bigger side?

2.1 lbs is pretty small. I’m not sure of the age to weight averages, but expect her to be 3 to 4 lbs full grown.

Sounds about right to me. She’ll fill out more as she gets older. My holland lop boy is about 3.5 lbs fully grown

Thanks! I do expect her to grow more but since she is only 3 months (nearly) and already over 2lbs! Oh well time can only tell

My baby holland lop just recently went to the vet for a checkup and was 2.1 lbs. He was 10 weeks old at the time. The vet said to expect him to be on the smaller end of holland lops

p.s. i just realized they were born only a day apart! haha

Otto was 1.5lbs when I got him at 8 weeks and is now almost 4lbs. I’m sure by 11 weeks he was probably 2lbs or so. So my boy is a tiny bit big on the spectrum (I think 3lbs is “ideal”) but perfectly normal.

Hollands can actually get up to 5lbs fairly easily. There is a dwarfing gene and if bunnies don’t get a copy, they tend to be larger, around 4-5lbs and bunnies who get one copy are generally around 2-3lbs, so there can be a range of weights that are all normal.

Small buns like hollands are often at full weight by 5-6 months, so he may seem big now, but he won’t be growing for long.

Thanks, actually LOL if yours was 1.5lbs at 8 weeks, my rabbit is probably going to weigh more than 4lbs when fully grown! Because I took her to the vet 2 days after she turned 8 weeks. Oh well, I mean size doesn’t concern me too much it’s just the grooming later on and maybe even the space. But I mean a pound or two really shouldn’t make a difference so I guess I’m alright!

Oops I calculated wrong! Cinnabun is going to be 16 weeks tomorrow so he was actually 2.1lbs at 14 weeks…

Hm that does concern me a bit, albeit she is not show quality in the least is it really normal for her to weigh that much? Her belly is usually very round / looks bloated but she’s not. I thought it was normal because she is a baby? I have a picture where it really shows but I’m on my phone so I’m not sure if I can upload it now. Is this normal?
