I have to order hay for my 2 buns. I have always ordered oxbow hay and love it. I did purchase a year and half ago sweet meadow hay. The only problem I didn’t like about it was the hay had some leaves in it. I am wondering which people prefer? What is the difference between timothy 1st cut and 2nd cut? thank you

I order sweet meadow hay in bulk and my bunny devours it in minutes, I have a hard time keeping his box full lol. He never ate as much hay when I was giving him oxbow. I think the only difference is is 2nd cut is softer

I don’t know who sells the sweet meadow hay, but I would say the difference is in the care with which it is packaged and sold. I know that Oxbow is usually reliable, and I swear by the BB store hay mini bales as well. If you’re happy with the Oxbow, it’s the most easily found widely for purchase, online or in person. (Yes, 2nd cut is softer. I think Sarita likes American Diner for her 2nd cut hay.)
