        Hi everyone,

I did a search and saw many topics on this subject, but figured i would post just in case anyone has ideas.  My bunny has a white spot oh is pupil.  It looks like a cataract or something. He’s eating, acting normally, playing…but i just saw this spot today and i’m freaked out! Is he blind? I just did a google image search for cataracts in rabbits and that is exactly what it looks like.

        TIA

Is it on the outside (cornea)?

A white spot on the eye could be indicative of infection as well – I suggest you consult a vet about this.

I ditto-you’ll need to go to the vet. If it is an injury or infection, the sooner the better the prognosis.

It could be an ulcer from an injury to the cornea. You should take your bun to the vet, they will be able to examine it more closely. If it is something treatable, it is best to get it taken care of ASAP so it doesn’t get worse.

                    i will tomorrow.

i just looked at it again and now it seems to be covering the entire cornea. Like it changed sizes…

I think worms can appear in the eyes also. Could be a number of things…
Good to hear you already have appt. Hope you get it cleared up fast.

Is it perfectly round and inside the eye? My mini rex has gotten an “eye goober” before that floated up onto her eyeball. It was irregular and soft I was able to gently wipe it away. If it’s not something external, I would make a vet appointment for this week or early next week to get her checked out.

My Mini-Rex used to get what Beka described. A big white gob that sort of floated up over his eye and I would clean it off with a wet Q-tip.

I ditto the others, if it’s not external, a vet appointment is needed. Please let us know how it goes.

                            I Everyone,
So I have to start by saying that my bun Qiviut and I have had a very tough week. I live in a town in the Northwest Territories ( limited bunny vet care ) so had to bring Qivi down south with me during a work trip to be spayed. Thesurgery was hard enough, then she pulled a stitchh, and then she got a little eye infection. While the vet was inspecting her eyes she found a little cataract in one eye. It is small but there. This is not a cornea cataract ( so not self inflicted). I contacted the breeder I got her from, and there are no parasite infections in the litter or previous litters ( I also remember the home I took her from was very comfy and clean).

I guess I just need some support and any suggestions on how to prevent the cataract from getting worse, as well as some reasons why this happened. Her parents and sister ( the breeder still has) also have clear eyes.

                            Thanks everyone
