My little cashmere lop peach is always getting things stuck to her bottom because she is soo fluffy, everyday i help her get anything out that she hasn’t. but toda she has a bit of poo stuck to her lady bits  and onbviouslty i cant just cut it out like i usually do so how can i get it out? because of where it is stuck to it is very sensitive and she isn’t very willing to let me touch.

Any suggestions on how i can help her? should i just leave it for a little while and see if she does get it off?

        thanks!

You could try taking applying a warm, wet washcloth and see if that softens up the poo for you to gently remove it. My lop has pretty long fur and this is what I do to remove poo stuck near his little bum hole. Just make sure she doesn`t get too wet and if she does, you can use a blow dryer on warm (held at a distance, make sure it`s not too hot) to dry the fur so she doesn`t get a chill.

LPT’s suggestion is great. Just to add to it…might be easier if you set Peach on a countertop first before you try. It seems to make them more manageable for grooming and procedures like this, as opposed to chasing her around the floor.

Ditto that. All my grooming is done on a towel on the kitchen table. My bunnies will not tolerate anything just on the floor.

Before y’all start in on me, I searched the interweb about bathing bunnies and most of what I read said not a good idea, although, I read someplace that said it could be done, but, the bunny must not be left wet and cold, to avoid drafts and make sure it’s good and dry. I don’t recommend it to be done often, but, my Velvet would go in a tub of water everyday I think if I let her. I guess I got a mental rabbit huh?

Velvet, a Jersey Woolly, also has had this problem a few times, mostly from too much soft food like apple slices and too much lettuce, not enough hay. I have filled up our bathtub about 2-3 inches of lukewarm water, and the first time I gently set her but down in the water, she seemed scared for about 2 seconds, then it was, “I like it, can I walk around in this stuff.” She loves it, although I only let her in the tub when her butts got a big glob of SHTUFF on it………………………Put on some latex or vinyl gloves like doctors use, unless you WANT to pull the stuff off with bare hands, but, it loosens up in just a few minutes, just have someone standing by with a nice big towl to wrap her up in till she gets dry. Velvet usually dries up in five minutes or so, then she’s nice and clean, pull gently on the glob, while sitting in the water, it will eventually slide right off.

Her best freind Rudy (in the bed) would NEVER allow this “BATH” stuff……………..

Rudy is a girl too, I guess I accept gay, and interacial marriage, cause these 2 really do love each other and play cat and mouse eeeer rabbit quite often. It’s funny cause Velvet is so fast the cat winds up looking all over for her.
