        Hey guys,

So I’ve noticed that Circe hasn’t been eating like she usually does..I’m not sure what is going on.

She has left most of her pellets for the last two days (that is usually not the case) She does eat her greens right away though, and I just made the switch from Alfalfa hay to Timothy hay, and she is barely picking at it. I’m not sure what is going on? She also has no issues eating her treats..

        She also does seem active..

        any ideas?

Oh, and I’ve also noticed that she didn’t seem to poop yesterday. She did when she was out of her cage during the day. I put her back in her cage at night and there were no droppings from last night this morning… or pee…

We have also just started to let her out of her cage regularly to free roam, as we have finally bunny proofed and she is fully litter trained now.. could it be this change?

You need to monitor her poos, if she doesn’t go after about 12 hours, I get her to the vet. Have you tried mixing the alfalfa in with the timothy. It’s possible she’s put off by a new hay and you need to incorporate the timothy slowly before switching over completely.

I think she needs to be seen by the vet. Not having poos, and not eating pellets that she loves is a clear indication that there’s something off in her digestion, beginning with her teeth. If she has a tooth problem, then the hard pellets or hay grinding may be hurting her. If it’s farther along, she may not be digesting what she has eaten well enough.

Unless she’s had a big pile of poos by now and is eating normally again, I’d have her checked. Especially with a holiday on Thursday coming up. You do not want to pay emergency vet fees just from waiting a few days too long.

It’s time to go to the vet. You can’t really do the ‘wait and see’ thing with bunnies like you can with cats and dogs; their systems are too delicate and a day could be the difference between a very treatable issue and an emergency or them not making it. So I would see the vet asap.
