Adorable. I only have two youngins buns! But I can ooo and ahh over the senior buns. I do have two senior dogs that lives with my mom though:
One is actually mine, the black lab, Lucy.
The other is my mom's, Neela. They are a bonded pair

(I'm pretty proud of this picture- I had it printed 16x20 on metal for my mom's bday. Still hasn't arrived though) |

Cute, Sarita!!!! I think Peppermint is my fave of your gang. Beautiful dogs, FF. I've read several different ages, so I'm asking you Sarita, what age do you consider a bun a senior? Olivia and Bindi are about 5 (at least that's my guesstimate with Olivia from the age the pet store gave me). Stormy was my only senior. I really wish he could have lived long into his golden age. |

.OMG, Sarita, how did I miss this?????
I wasn't online much on the 14th, and had a crazy couple of days so am just seeing this now. Great thread! And what, prey tell, do Seniors have to do with Moi? Hmmm? (Every year I ask to not turn grey yet, and so far, naturally darker hair each year. There is a vanity Goddess.)
Here are 2 of Spockie in his Senior year. I consider seniors starting about age 7. .jpg)
And here he is at age 8. Looking at it now, I didn't realize how thin he got just before he died. His hind legs were disabled so he was scooting by pushing himself along this way. I think he just got more cuddly and sweet at this stage. I had to wash his hind legs etc. almost daily here. He remained in good spirits to the end. A Lovey Bunny.

Thanks for posting this, Sarita. |

Oh Pam...I've never seen these pix of Spockie. He was so beautiful! :'( Do you have a link to the slipper video perchance? That's my fave. Mine are just under the six year mark. Only my cats are old enough for this thread. But I don't have current pix uploaded of them. Sarita I love your bunnies. Especially Ms. Toffee...gorgeous! |

Mimzy, Pip & Fiver...yup...my day is all about them. :)

First, I want to say how sweet all the senior bunnies pictured here are.
MM, yes, I still have it on You Tube. He's probably about 5 or 6 in this. Here's the link:

Wow Pam, I didn't realize Spockie was all twisted up like Maxine with his arthritis too :~( It definitely is a challenge taking care of these rabbits, but rewarding as well. I'm proud that all my rabbits are proud card caring members of AARBB (American Association of Retired Bunnies and Bobby). |

AARBB I love Bobby. He'll be retired someday too. I didn't remember Spockie being twisted like that pix. I think he actually was pulling himself off in another direction from the front, but the back end were dragged afterward so at first he was twisted in that curve shape. But he had lost a lot of weight by then. He was still velvet feeling, and so very, very loving and sweet. My vet that I am working for p/t (5 hours later today) was the one who cared for him in his last couple of years. She was so good with him. She'd showed me how to inject his metacam for pain the final week. Before that, I was grinding and dropping various meds into his food which he took like a little trooper. It makes me sad to see these. The video is of a healthier time - running figure 8s through my legs carrying my slipper. |

LPT, I know. It's more the closeness with Spockie, like you had with Stormy, that lingers. It has been a very short time since Stormy passed. For me, it's been over 4 years now. But seeing pix of Spockie can still make me cry sometimes. |
