I use pelleted paper bedding (off brand of yesterday’s news) and clean the box every morning. But by evening that thing is stinkyyy. I hate coming home from dinner and having a stinky house!

What can I do, besides cleaning it more often, to keep the stink down? More litter? baking soda? a different brand?

I would try a different litter – I have no success with the paper litter either. I like the pelleted wood stove pellet type litters (although I don’t use wood stove pellets, mine is bedding made for horses).

The best litter for odor control I have found is feline pine (or any pine pelleted litter) – it has a natural woody pine scent and when it absorbs the urine it breaks down into sawdust, can barely even smell anything until I scoop the litter tray out. But, some bunnies aren’t too fond of the pine scent. Aspen is less of a scent and doesn’t break down into sawdust, it controls odor a little better than paper, but not by much.

I use CareFresh and it definitely helped with my buns litter smell. I make sure to vinegar it every week too.

I use wood stove pellets. The only time I can smell it is when I empty the contents into the plastic bag.

Can’t use carefresh, he won’t use it the box if I use carefresh. I may try the feline pine after this bag is done. I use blue buffalo litter for my cat (made of crushed walnut shells), so I may try that unless that’s a bad idea?

I wouldn’t recommend crushed walnut as that has a reputation for causing stomach damage if ingested by certain small animals… not sure about rabbits specifically, but I wouldn’t risk it myself.
